If you’re not in Japan, it can be tricky to find places to buy legitimate Japanese stationery.  There are many Japanese brands available in the U.S., like Zebra, Uni-ball, and Pilot.  But, many times, the products available in the states are different (either in the manufacturing or the branding and packaging).  So, if you’re a Japanese Stationery fanatic or you’re just trying to get your hands on a new-to-you but a highly regarded product, your options are limited.

Especially now in the time of coronavirus, you can’t travel to Japan on your own (and let’s be honest, what a luxury it would be to hop on a plane to Japan just to satisfy a stationery itch).  I’ve found that Etsy is a great place to turn to for online ordering of Japanese stationery, and I’ve put together a list of my favorite Japanese Stationery on Etsy to give you some ideas of items I love and are available.

The Best Japanese Stationery on Etsy

1. Washi Tape Cutters

Kokuyo Karu Cut- I don’t use a ton of washi, but when I do, I love that I can get a clean cut for any tape I choose without needing to grab the scissors or place a new roll onto a tape cutter.

This to-do list sticker is great for quickly adding a checklist to your planner or notebook.  It specifically goes with the Kokuyo Jibun Techo, which is the planner I currently use, so it fits perfectly within the lines for each day so you can have a new checklist every day.  But you can also use this checklist with any notebook or planner you’re using.

5. Tombow mono Plastic Erasers

I don’t often write in pencil unless I’m doing crosswords or jotting down a tentative event in my planner.  But that means I’m using a pencil because I will definitely need to erase what I wrote.  So I need a good eraser.  There’s just something about these Tombow Mono erasers that are satisfying and completely erase your pencil marks.

Bonus. B6 Slim Jibun Techo Planner Cover

I’m including this in this list as a bonus because technically, the cover isn’t Japanese, it’s made by the lovely Etsy shop owner based in the U.S., but it’s made for my favorite Japanese planner, the Jibun Techo.  So if you’re obsessed with your Jibun Techo as much as I am, you might be interested in a sleeker, more sophisticated cover.
